Goals:
• Developing satellite multi-sensor rainfall and snowfall retrieval algorithms and merging model estimates with ground truth measurements to improve quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE).

• Validating remotely sensed rainfall products for improving their retrieval algorithms.

• Enhancing satellite-based precipitation nowcasts over the New York City metropolitan area and applying this algorithm as a test bed for NOAA’s goal to develop a satellite based nowcasting capability for the entire nation.
